PHIL 'N' THE BLANKS

Described as "Heavy Hitters" by the Chicago Tribune, Phil ‘n’ the Blanks were famous in Chicago from early 1980 until 1986. Best described as the thinking person’s dance band.Their songs received wide acceptance on college and progressive radio, including WXRT in Chicago and KROQ in Los Angeles, reached top forty on several national new music charts and #1 on several CMJ charts. MTV aired three of their dramatic videos in rotation. Phil ‘n’ the Blanks toured the Midwest and East Coast. Shows often sold-out, with lines circling the block. Anxious fans didn’t mind waiting for their chance to dance to ‘Black is Not a Color - it's a Situation’.
